The elementary writing program is typically geared towards grades four through six, in which sentence and paragraph structure begin to become key to their learning and development. Your child will learn the following:
- The five steps of the writing process, including:
- Pre-writing
- Drafting
- Revising
- Editing
- Publishing
- Writing techniques for everything from paragraphs to essays
- Vocabulary and spelling skills
- Grammar
- Understanding parts of speech
- Maintaining subject-verb agreement
- Avoiding fragments, comma splices and run-ons
- Punctuating properly
Your child may already show proficiency in some of these skills, but might be lacking in others. Our diagnostic assessment will reveal the specific writing weakness(es) your child has. We'll then be able to target exactly those skills that need improvement to help your child become the best writing student possible.
